Sjögrens Research Ireland are recipients of a highly commended prize at the Irish Healthcare Awards 2022

Sjögrens Research Ireland – is a collaboration between Sjögrens Ireland (patient advocacy group) and the Ocular Immunology Research Group (OIRG) at RCSI, University of Medicine and Health Sciences. In December 2022 this partnership was Highly Commended by the Irish Healthcare Awards in the Patient Organisation Project of the Year category.
The Irish Healthcare Awards celebrate and reward the achievements, innovation and resilience of the Irish healthcare sector.
This commendation recognises the work of the Sjögrens Ireland patient advocacy group and their efforts to educate the public, patients and health care professionals about their disease.
The award specifically recognises the webinars, podcasts and information leaflet that Sjögren’s Ireland have co-created with Dr Joan Ni Gabhann-Dromgoole for the Ocular Immunology Research Group in RCSI. Furthermore it acknowledges the need and effectiveness of these project in terms of patient or public education – especially in a time when COVID-19 has dominated headlines and made publicity for other conditions difficult.
Sjogren’s Research Ireland would like to thank all their partners who are helping Sjögren’s Ireland achieve their goals; @RCSI_Irl, @RCSI_PPI_Ignite, @AcuityIreland, @TheaPharmaUK and all those who have contributed to our information leaflet
